What is Form Designer Toolkit?
Form Designer Toolkit is one of the new features in BlastWizard 7.1 release that allows you to design and customize the HTML for your own opt-in form using a set of easy to use tools that do not require HTML knowledge. Once your form design is complete, the Form Designer Toolkit will generate the necessary HTML code to embed into your website or landing page and build your recipient lists.
How does it work?
No HTML knowledge is needed to use the Form Designer Toolkit. Just login to your BlastWizard account and click on Opt-In Forms from the menu bar on the left. Once there, click the Add A New Form button to start building your form. Here is a description of the 9 steps to creating a form:
- Form Name: Type in a name for your new form so that you can easily refer to it from the Form Designer Toolkit home screen.
- List: Type in a name for either a new or an exisitng list to which people will be added once they submit this form. Form data will automatically add new records to your list that will become available to you through BlastWizard. Please note that only letters, number and underscore are allowed for list name. No spaces.
- Fields: Here you can customize the different pieces of data you want to collect from your website visitors. Pick a List Field from predefined fields and fill in the display name for how you want those fields to appear on the form. Check Required if you want if that piece of data is important to your list. You can add as many fields as you want. You can add, delete, or edit fields in your form from this section. You can also drag the title bar of each field to reorder its position.
- Format and Color: This section allows you to design and look and feel of your new form. It also allows you to control field title position, form width and border attributes.
- Titles and Labels: Here you can customize your form’s title and button text, as well as control whether you want to use the CAPTCHA verification and its text.
- Logo and Thank You Response: You can upload a logo here to appear in the pop-up thank you page the user will see after submitting the form. You can also customize the Thank You Title and Thank You Message here. If you have your own thank your own hosted thank you page, you can enter the URL in the field where it says Thank You Redirect Link.
- Opt-In Email Message: This is where you customize the email message text, subject line, signature, etc. The opt-in message will be sent to the user upon form submission and asks him to click a confirmation link. Once the link is clicked, that user is automatically added to your designated list.
- Opt-In Response: When users click on the activation link in the opt-in email message they receive, they will be directed to this page thanking them for opting in. This section allows you to customize the subject line for this message as well as the message body text. If you have your own hosted response page, you can enter the page URL in the field where it says Thank You Redirect Link.
- Copy Form HTML Source: At this last step, the HTML source code for your newly designed form is generated and displayed for you to copy from the pane on the right. You can also click the link Click To Copy HTML Source To Clipboard to copy the code. This code can now be pasted into any of your web pages where you want the form to appear. If you do not know how do that, please forward code and instructions to your web master.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The form HTML will not work properly until you Save your form.
